Go In Pursuit Of Africa’s Big Seven - Lions, Elephants, Rhinos, Leopards, Buffalos, Whales And Great White Sharks! But why stop at the Big 5? Unreal Dive Expeditions (Telephone 0871 7311 024 in the UK), an adventure based diving company in South Africa, have put together a luxury eight day package that takes you on an incredible safari adventure in search of the Big 5, with the added excitement of witnessing whales in close proximity and diving with great white sharks!

Days 1 and 2 are spent at the Shamwari Game Reserve where you will stay in an exclusive Shamwari Lodge and all meals are included. During the morning and evening, you will travel around the reserve in open vehicles with trained rangers who will take you in search of lions, rhinos, leopards, buffalos and elephants as well as the multitude of other animals sure to cross your path.

Day 3 sees you fly to Cape Town where you will be staying at the Steeberg Hotel and where you will lunch at the Botanic Gardens under the awesome backdrop of the famous Table Mountain.

Day 4 and it’s a guided tour of Cape Town, including a visit to Table Mountain, before moving on to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront where you will take part in your first dive with ragged tooth sharks, turtles and giant short tail rays in the predator exhibition of the Two Oceans Aquarium (test your nerves before the real thing!).

">But the day doesn’t finish there. Later that day take your pick between an afternoon of wine tasting at a few of South Africa’s finest wine cellars followed by a sundown horse ride along one of Cape Town’s beautiful beaches or for the more adventurous, a tandem paraglide off Table Mountain before returning to the hotel for your evening meal!

">Day 5 will see you collected after breakfast for a full day’s diving in False Bay. Here you will have the chance to cage dive with the Great White Sharks and seals. On return to the harbour you will visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach before dinner at the hotel.

Day 6 transfers you to the very exclusive Groolbos Private Nature Reserve where expert guides will introduce you to the wonders of the largest private fynbos garden in the world. Here you will discover the fascinating relationship between insects, birds, mammals and flowering plants of this diverse ecosystem. You can take a path through an ancient Milkwood Forrest or visit the remnant Afro-mountain forest on the reserve, on foot, by vehicle or from the saddle of a well-schooled pony. The day is concluded with dinner and an overnight stay on the reserve.

Day 7 see you board the boat that you will be sailing to Shark Alley, one of the favourite sighting spots of the Great White Shark, between Geyser Rock and Dyer Island. Large numbers of sharks can usually be seen here hunting the thousands of seal who live there.

Day 8 and you will return to Cape Town, stopping en route for a spot of whale watching in Hermanus and to see the Botanic Gardens in Betty’s Bay. Lunch will be at the Gordon Bay Yacht Club and late afternoon you will be dropped off at a Cape Town destination of your choice.

The eight day package is available from May to September and costs around £2,000 per person at today’s exchange rate. The price includes all accomodation, meals, travel and the excursions on the itinerary, but you will have to pay for flights to South Africa as well as drinks and any optional activities.
