Legoland Windsor Theme ParkThat’s right. 47 million Lego bricks! 50,000 alone were used to create the new Cape Canaveral and the John F Kennedy Space Centre that you’ll find in Miniland. It features an eight foot long shuttle, an even taller launch tower, a rocket garden and vehicle assembly building all made out of Lego bricks.

Also new for 2006 is the updated mini-London. The London skyline has been brought up to date with the addition of Canary Wharf, The Gherkin, The Lloyd’s Building, City Hall and the Millennium Bridge.

There´s also Fire Academy, a hilarious workout that will test your family’s fitness and teamwork. You’ll compete against other families by jumping into a Lego fire engine and powering it by pumping levers and pushing buttons across a runway to put out a ‘burning’ fire.

Then there’s Dino Dippers, a spinning carrousel ride, which revolves around an enormous nest full of dinosaur eggs and young hatchlings, and the Dino Safari, a prehistoric jungle full of giant animated Lego brick dinosaurs!

This year’s annual fireworks spectaculars promise to be bigger and better than ever too. They take place towards the end of October (22nd, 23rd, 28th, 29th and 30th) and of course on Guy Fawke’s Night itself, the 5th of November.

A day ticket for Legoland costs £29 for adults and £23 for 3 to 15 year olds. Under 3’s go free!

On-line booking will save you £2.00 per person on selected tickets and if you are going to visit more than once a year an annual pass is great value. Visit just twice and you’ll save money. Any extra visits are effectively free! Perfect if you live nearby! Legoland is on the B3022 Windsor/Ascot road, two miles from Windsor on the site of what was Windsor Safari Park.
