Rocky Mountaineer Train
In the late 19th century, railways that crossed the Canadian Rockies were built to link the west coast of Canada
with the rest of the country. And those pioneering days of early rail travel are relived by Rocky Mountaineer Vacations who will take you on an unforgettable journey through the Canadian wilderness on vintage trains.

The Rocky Mountaineer train travels between the beautiful coastal city of Vancouver, the resort town of Whistler, British Columbia, and Jasper or Banff and Calgary in Alberta. The entire train ride takes place during daylight hours to ensure you enjoy every minute of the breathtaking scenery.

There are three routes to choose from, each with its own unique sights -
Kicking Horse, Yellowhead and Fraser Discovery. Each two day route includes an overnight stay in comfortable accommodation to ensure you miss nothing along the way.

If you can't spend two days on board The Rocky Mountaineer, there is a new threehour train journey aboard The Whistler Mountaineer, between Vancouver and Whistler, highlighting the spectacular coast of British Columbia.

Two services are available aboard the trains - Red Leaf and the more expensive Gold Leaf.

In Red Leaf you will be seated in classic rail cars with large picture windows. All seats are forward-facing but can be rotated to accommodate groups of four. Food - both breakfast and lunch - is cold and your overnight accomodation is classified as "moderate".

In Gold Leaf you are seated in custom-designed dome coaches that are on two levels (stairs and lifts connect the two floors) and boast full-length dome windows. There is a full galley kitchen serving a 36 seater dining room so you will get to eat hot food too. You will also get dinner at your overnight accommodation which is the same as Red Leaf accommodation.
