The 500 acre theme park in the Staffordshire countryside is already home to some of the best rollercoasters in the country including Nemesis, the UK’s only inverted rollercoaster, and Air, a rollercoaster that tilts you forward into the “Superman” position so that you fly through the sky.

And of course there’s Oblivion, the world’s first vertical drop rollercoaster! As you approach the precipice you are abruptly stopped and held over the vertical drop. “Don’t Look Down, ” are the last words you’ll hear before the brake is released and you plunge vertically into a cloud of steam. Phew!

Admission to Alton Towers costs £28.00 for adults and children 12 years and over, £21.00 for children 4 - 11 years and is free for children under 4 years old (family ticket for two adults and two children are also available for £78.00).
