Take fish as an example. If you love to eat it, but the thought of preparing it at home is a bit daunting, then get yourself along to the Fish Basics workshop. You’ll learn easy tips for purchasing, storing and preparing fresh fish as well as techniques include boning, steaking and scaling. You’ll also have a hands-on filleting tutorial too. And of course you’ll also learn how to cook the fish that you have prepared. You will be working with whatever fish is available on the day - possibly wild sea bass, skate mackerel, red mullet or even brill or turbot. The Basic Fish Workshop costs £70 and includes instruction, all ingredients, recipe sheets, and a fabulous sit down lunch (prepared by you!) and wine. Other courses include Quick And Easy Thai Cooking, Shellfish Techniques and Game Techniques. There are also Kids In The Kitchen workshops for budding Jamie Olivers.
