Follow in the footsteps of WWII Spitfire aces by flying a vintage fighter-trainer plane!

This is a truly unique opportunity to fly a real warbird - just like the legendary WWII Spitfire aces in the Battle Of Britain!

The T-6 Texan has been used for training literally thousands of fighter pilots for combat during World War Two. British and Commonwealth pilots called them Harvards and many a Spitfire pilot would have cut his flying teeth in one of these famous warbirds.

And now it's your turn to follow in their footsteps on board one of these vintage two seater single engine fighter trainer aircraft.

During the course of the flight you will be offered the chance to take control of the aeroplane and experience for yourself the challenges faced by so many young flying cadets in years gone by. Don't worry though - the plane has dual controls and your instructor will be guiding you every step of the way. In fact if you'd rather just sit back and enjoy the experience, that's fine too.

Your experience begins with a 30 minute welcome and briefing session where you will be familiarised with the aircraft and prepared for your flight.

Then you will do the "walk round" safety checks with your instructor before climbing on board and strapping in. Sitting behind your instructor, you can assist in cockpit checks, taxiing and the pre-flight checks.

Then comes take-off!

During this 50 minute flight you can fly up to 75% of the time, ask for the plane to be rolled or loop the loop - or you can sit back and enjoy the ride. The choice is yours - you can participate as much or as little as you like!

The experience is rounded off by a 20 minute debriefing after which your certificate and logbook will be presented to you.

On purchasing this experience you will be issued with a voucher valid for ten months. You are then free to contact the flight operator directly to book a date for your flight. Flights are conducted all year round. You should book at least six weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.

Minimum age is 18. Minimum height is 5’, maximum height is 6’4”. Maximum weight is 20 stone. Generally good health is required before undertaking any Warbird Experiences flight.
